"These Empire Tai Chi classes have been terrific. They've given me greater strength, balance and a sense of mastering new skills. Gene is a patient teacher. He conducts the classes with care and dedication, but also with relaxation, so I feel that I can work at my own pace and enjoy my level of accomplishment. I plan to continue taking Tai Chi classes with Gene."

Standing Meditation and Diaphragmatic Breathing
Every Empire Tai Chi class begins with
the entire class participating as a group
with 10 minutes of Wu Chi Standing (the beginning).

The instructor reviews the Wu Chi stance of each student and adjusts body alignment where necessary to help promote proper balance and greater relaxation

Diaphragmatic breathing helps to promote relaxation, provide an internal massage for the bodies organs and to stimulate the lymphatic system.

This period ends with the addition of visualization called the Microcosmic orbit, which further supports the relaxation process and to promote concentration.
